Pick one of the 8 topics for sensory perception, find a real-life example and the knowledge issues that can be extracted and explored. This information should be sent to me via the Theory of Knowledge Blog before leaving clas.
Presentations may take many forms, eg: lectures, skits, simulations, games, dramatized readings, interviews, debates. You can use: videos, overhead projections, posters, questionnaires, cassettes of songs, interviews, costumes or props. Presentations cannot be an essay read aloud to the class.

The topic that I have chosen to work on is number 6) Which senses are most important in our interaction with the arts? I have chosen this topic because I have already played instruments and I have already had experiences with plastic arts, so I believe this will be a very interesting research since I am going to observe if what I thought was actually right and I will work on something that I'm comfortable with.

Relate your knowledge issue to sense perception. You might consider poetry that relates to senses.Poems can describe things perceived with the senses, but describe them in abstract terms in order to convey something essential that photographs or videos could not. Or, you might argue that we cannot commmunicate some sensory experiences to anyone who does not have the same emotional/intellectual background because they are too specific to generalize. You and I might both watch the same balletr (and share the same sensory input), but you are likely to get much more out of it because of your experience with ballet. In a very real way, you will "see" more.

The topic I have chosen is topic number 6, "6) Which senses are most important in our interaction with the arts?". The reason I am choosing this topic is because I play many instruments and I find it very important to have a strong interaction with the arts and in this case, music. I believe in many different reasons for certain senses to have connections with our interactions. I am working with Thiago to explore the world of senses and our interaction with them and the arts.

I have chosen to present topic 8, " How is our understanding of language similar to the way we perceive reality with our senses?". I chose this topic because language and sense perception are related, and it is an interesting idea to compare them with one another.I intend on defining, comparing, and relating language and sense perception and how they both influence in perceiving reality, together and individually. An example of this would be during a crime scene, where one side describes what happened, while the other is at the scene of the crime sensing everything around them with their eyes, touch, smell, taste and hearing. I will use examples like such, to help support my ideas and give examples for the audience to understand.

You might consider poetry that describes the senses. Here is a website with simple sense poetry: http://academics.uww.edu/cni/webquest/Fall02/Poetry%20Webquest/fivesensespoetry.html

I've decided that my topic will be: "is the role of culture and language in the perceptual process? Given the partially subjective nature of sense perception, how can different knowers ever agree on what is perceived? Do people with different cultural or linguistic backgrounds live, in some sense, in different worlds?

I did my presentation on topic 3 because it is relevant to understand how cultural precedents and linguistics affect people in order to empathize with one another.
